S+H House

S+H House was a progressive development for a client’s second home, that meant that the house has to function as both a residence and a personal hub for the client’s private art collections. Situated in Kelapa Gading, the house was initiated with the understanding of environmental responsibility. With a relatively small area to deal with, the S+H House managed to present the successful effort on tackling cramped spaces and evoked uniqueness to its final design.

The first solution is to assemble the rooms and spaces in a vertical way. Split floor leveling inside the central areas of the house encourages for a dynamic relationship between its spatial experiences, be it indoors and outdoors. Natural lightings were also implemented to allow a strong connection of livelihood within each floor. As the masses morphed, each room got its own design elements through the use of specific materials and finishes. Optimized natural light openings have given it dramatic senses of space, leading to a fully atmospheric experience throughout the house.

The ultimate transparency that this house has brought has made the room to always look fresh and brightly accentuated. Additional crossed ventilation is created from all the glass sliding doors which are easy to open and this helps the comforting temperature to stay put within the occupant’s tolerances, making air conditioning to be used less all day within the house.
