Initially the studies of architecture has taken a modest yet steady pace that any progression made through each generation rarely gets the recognition that many have deserved throughout the years. Fortunately, since the newly reformed era of Indonesia’s political landscape, all substantial acknowledgements and understanding that many have missed have begun to emerge be it locally or internationally. This helps to open new doors for Indonesia to present the best she has to offer.
Presented by the young architects of Indonesia after almost 20 years in practice, the Indonesian Architects Week at Seoul in 2017 was the second exhibition succeeding the first Indonesian Architecture Week (2011) in Tokyo. The book was published as a support for the exhibition in conjunction the International Union of Architecture (UIA) 2017 Seoul, presenting the works of 53 Indonesian Architects.
Our presented work in this book is none other than our newly developed Suaka Marketing Gallery, set in Palembang, South Sumatra. Among other creative works in the industry, we are proud to have joined the initiative.
The Suaka Marketing Gallery, is an answer to said dogma where all the values area not only to be met, but to be taken to a whole new level with the addition of one element often overlooked in the design community, intuition. It is a planned establishment that houses a number of uses such as an art gallery, a marketing office and a coffee shop is a part of one development among many for a new city that is located in a suburban area close to central Palembang.
